Chennai Water Crisis
WAL_Chennai_Narrative_July-5233.jpg
Chennai is tackling its worst drought in years. In many neighborhoods residents rely on hand pumps for their water needs, but the wells have run dry for months now. Water is being trucked into and through the city. The tankers will deliver water every other day, at times not known in advance. If you leave home for one hour, you might miss it. Water is rationed: a small household wil get a maximum of five jugs, at one rupee each. While waiting for ones turn at the lorry, things can get testy and argumentative at times.
